(previous to Mt Rainier) As soon as we entered Canada, we quickly realized how expensive the end of our trip would be.  65$ for 24 beers, 1.45$ for a liter of gasoline (this is almost 6$ a gallon for you Americans out there), 120$ for the cheapest little roadside motel.  Everything is almost double the price of USA. Vancouver is probably the most expensive city in Canada to live (taxes), but it has been ranked for a 5th year in a row by a financial magazine as ‘’the best city in the world to live’’.

With the Olympics that were not too far away, we spent 8 days with friends visiting every corner of the city.  We hiked several good spots including Grouse Mountain which I climbed in 45 minutes. A clean and organized city where everyone looked slim and fit.  I drove to Squamish one day and took a full day course on how to kite surf.
A sport I will definitively begin next year.
