Zafarna, Egypt
March 13th 2007
Only a day back from Canada and here I am with my physics students at Zafarana along the Red Sea coast in Egypt. It was a 2 hours drive from school to get there, but I personally think it was well worth it. Students tough the presentation was long and boring, but I found it to be very interesting. Amongst some of the interesting facts, do you know that these towers costs 1 million $US each? The constant wind blowing from the Red Sea has an average speed of 36km/h, reaching 50km/h on some good days. We had the opportunity to go inside one of the wind mill. Unfortunately, we didn’t climb it up to the nassle. Very advance technology and very warm inside! |
