Photography project

All black and white photos have been taken by students with their home made camera

This project takes place in my Wave & Modern physics course.   After completing the unit on optical devices, students are ask to build a pin hole camera.

The students are then introduced to basic photography concepts and are then asked to try their camera by varying parameters (exposure, focal length, etc.).

Negatives are processed in a dark room that was built and designed especially for my project.
The best negatives become positives on photo paper using a photo enlarger.

Throughout this project, students have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of: optics, lenses, cameras, photography, chemistry involved in photography and photoelectric effect.
You can have a look at the different documents provided to students during my project.
